Anyone know if the Green River Steelhead Club is doing one of their samplings with WDFW this week? Buddy of mine just called and said he noticed a truck/trailer at the Hwy 18 takeout and when heading over the upper bridge, saw two "dudes" pitching spinners from the driftboat. If there is no test fishery going on I do believe we have just seen/heard of the pioneers of 2010 and latter steelheading, "going wherever and whenever I want for my fish"...  |

Grab the tater guns boys, we got ourselves some criminals  . Maybe they read the posts about vehicles getting broken in to, and figured it would be safest to fish while all the tweakers are targeting the open rivers for their ill gotten prizes. |

Spinners on the Green for winter nates?!? Obviuosly they have no clue what there doing! If thats how they sample, no wonder the escapement #'s are so low.  Hope they get tagged! I read some where the club no longer did this. But I could be wrong. Bunker |

I've caught plenty of natives on the Green with spinners.

dont know how they do it now, but in the 80's when i fished the enhancement program on the green, we all had game dept. signs on our boats.

I drove up Hwy. 18 yesterday on my way to the Methow and glanced over at a truck with a driftboat trailer at the usual takeout for those crazy enough to float the lower Green...I also saw two cars parked along the road where you walk to the carbody hole or whatever the h*ll that's called. Go get 'em Joe. By the way, there are no fish whatsoever in the upper Columbia.  |

Apparently they are still mining the river of its last few natives...they put five wild fish in the hatchery ponds at Soos Creek.
Yippee.

P.S. WDFW is considering a "rescue program" for those fish, too...which will likely mean taking the wild fish out of the river. Double yippee.

That's BS and makes me hot beyond belief. Man keeps f'n things up and man is somehow going to fix it? Sounds like fun fishing closed waters without anyone else, under the guise of helping the wild stock...I'm sure it would be really hard to find volunteers to do that on every stream.  Might as well lottery out some of these opportunities and collect some money for the privilege....I'm too mad to write anymore.  |

One more thing, I would love to invite anyone involved with this project to come on here and give some evidence that legitimizes this operation. It obviously hasn't improved things in the past otherwise the river would be open.
