Best memories of my Dad go back 40 years when I was a teen. My Dad had never fished before and I started by myself at age 8 and finally got him interested when I was around 13, also got one of my brothers interested at the same time. The best times were back in Ontario fishing the Rideau river. The three of us would go out just before dark for some top water bass action and we would have a blast. Always got some bass and the odd time we would be into pike and walleye as well. I remember one night telling him there was no way he would catch the first fish, sure enough my first cast with a Crazy Crawler and Fish On! He said I must have horse shoes up my a$$, every time after that it was a bet as to which one of us three would get the first fish. Sure miss those days with him, now he is in 80's and can't fish due to health reasons but we still remember them. Now I'm fishing with my son who is 22 and I've had him and his sisters fishing since they were 3/4 years old. Building some good memories with him now, especially sturgeon fishing in the Fraser, The look on his face when his first sturgeon was a 6 footer was priceless.
