Dardevle and I made a trek to some holy water over in Eastern Washington the past few days...didn't manage huge numbers of fish or even any particularly big ones, but it was a helluva lot of fun nonetheless.  We had great success with some globug patterns I found out about on the Salmon River in Idaho a few years back, and some studly steelies couldn't help themselves.  Grin  Here's some of the photography:

Nice fish and nice pics Guys! Looks like the Fifi strikes again. (I remember it from the old forum.)

Were you guys flyfishing?

Schweet guys!  I need to hook up with you  and get the down low on that fishery.  My buddy's dad has a house over there, right on the Crick, and wants to go! Cool

Hey Zonk...to answer your flyfishing question, all I can say is that we were using a type of strike indicator, a few split shot, and a tandem of "flies" we tied up specifically for this trip.  Oh yeah...and our mainline was of the floating variety, and we did a whole lot of mending.  Grin  From all that, you can be the judge.  Grin Grin

Fifi is quite a girl...you should've seen dardevle's version...it looked more like this guy:  Afro, but it caught the first steelhead of the trip!

Had a great time on this trip, thanks Bugs.  I have a lot of confidence in the power of the dropper now!  Now that I received some good instruction on glo-bug tying they actually look a lot like this  Afro, which is an improvement! laugh  Here's a few pictures of some pretty "summer-runs".

There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Afro

Wow! A poodle with an Afro. What'll they think of next?

Bugs, that's what I like. A definite answer. What do you do for a living?  Grin Grin

Those are sure pretty fish.

Those are sweet fish!  Purist be dammed, the colored up versions are a lot prettier than the chromers to me.  Way to go guys.  If we get a little rain this week maybe they'll be some closer to home.   Grin

Beautiful fish, guys. I agree with Phil--chromers have their luster, certainly, but there's something special about a colored steely, hundreds of miles from the salt.

One of these years, I'm going to head over there for about a month and just fish.  Grin

Ouch...I realize their colors are a little more brilliant than those chrome brats in the 'Nooch, DR, but they are hearty metalheads nonetheless.  laugh Grin

I'm sure they are. Someday I want to make a trip over there myself. I heard that summers in the summer comment a couple years ago. Since then I've been patiently waiting for my chance to use it... You have to admit that it's a good one  Roll Eyes So I was just messing with you guys.
