I don't bother wrapping yarn on the hook, to make the glo bug.  I just use the colored pom poms from the craft stores.  It takes about 5 seconds and a drop of super glue to make a glow bug, if you use pom poms.

with my glow bugs i just use a normal #4 bait hook and i wrap with orange 6/0 thread. I use 4, inch long pieces of wool and tie them in. Then trim. Just wrap near the middle. I dont think u really need that special egg yarn, just stuff with tight fibers, the stringy stuff is terrible.

I usually just use glo-bug yarn and it seems to work great, just need a pair of really sharp scissors to trim off the remaining fibers.

when u tie the first 3 strands in just tie the dot in ontop as a 4th. doesn't need to be right ontop, i dont care if mine look bad or good, they got to be round and solid. fish dont care about shape.

Here's a suggestion: hit the search tab above and type in "Fifi"...you'll find a tutorial on the subject of globugs.  great
