I know a few of you guys have tried running a short dropper off of your jigs, and last year my first summer run came on "fifi" tied to a dropper off a jig. Here is another setup to try as your dropper. This is a single Jensen Egg on a #4 hook. I rig this by tying your basic egg loop, but increase the number of wraps so that your bait loop begins near the bend of the hook. Then simply insert the Jensen egg up onto the hook, and tie a short piece of yarn into the egg loop behind the egg. This will keep the Jensen egg from sliding down onto the bend of the hook. That's it, now add this as a dropper or fish it by itself. I usually pre-tie a bunch of these on an 18" leader and store them in little ziplock bags.

And if you are wondering,.... these really do catch steelhead! great
